Emily didn't get her grades to do her chosen course at Uni this year. she wasn't prepared to panic about it so she took a year out to think about her future. She got herself a job at the local JJB gym but as we had expected the early morning shifts were rather hard on us all, mainly as my internal alarm clock would wake me at 5:55 only to discover she is still in bed and her sift starts at 6am. So she started to look for a new job. She had an interview with a local company and was offered the job last week with nice 9-5 days. She had to give a weeks notice and is due to finish on Friday with JJB. She had a call today from the new company to say that they wouldn't be taking her on as they would have to lay her off in a months time due to the creidt crunch. she is so upset she had bought new office clothes and shoes for the job- so they are all going back and JJB have replaced her. Life is just so tough sometimes. Then she walked over to the hampster cage to discover it had died overnight:(.
It's tough being a teenager but even tougher being the parent of a teenager.
But I have to give her credit she rang ACAS and they say she has to be paid by the new company for her notice period so she has called the company and told them this they say if they have to they will. Only time will tell.
So she joins her dad at home all day.
