Some ten weeks ago I inadvertently detached half of one my retinas and had to have an eye op. I was discharged as an outpatient of the Bristol Eye Hospital last Thursday and today went to my (new) optician for a new prescription. My "bad" eye has scar damage and has changed shape considerably so my sight is never going to be as good as before but by the end of next week I hope to have regained binocular vision.
I anticipate an outbreak of absurd optimism, neglect of negative factors, and almost nauseatingly good humour and joie de vivre. I will, obviously, have to resign from the Grumpy Old Men forum. This is due to my taken up the optician's "special offer" on coloured lenses. I chose the slightly pink ones. Their brand name is Rose Tinted Spectacles.
