First time I tried it I just assumed I'd got a glass from a bad bottle, that it had corked. No corks on these coke bottle I learned, so I had got the genuine article in it's most splendid form.

The first time I tried it was in fact the last time I tried it.

to be fair Pattimac - it varies a great amount !  One of the villagers gave us a bottle of his own produce and actually it was quite pleasant even Mr Pookie (who works in the wine industry and knows about these things..) said that it was good.  But I do believe the said gentlemen had fortified it with a little brandy (or possibly tractor fluid) ! - it was very port like and not like the normal village vinegar at all. He and his wife came around with bags of olives etc, sat out our kitchen table and demolished a couple of bottles (Mrs villager didn't of course, she sat there tutting at him all night saying how naughty it was of him !!).  But Mr Pookie seemed to enjoy it well enough :D
