You are allowed to buy it, carry it, and use it. However, as is possibly the case in the UK, you may find yourself in trouble if using it causes serious damage to the sprayed creep, such as sight problems (should they choose to pursue it). I am sorry to say to all the women on the forum, but I agree with Keith, basically the "low lifes" in Turkey not the nice people but the low lifers, think they can treat British women as they like, it does have something to do with the way we are dressed, they think we are "easy pickings" in the same way that they think it is ok to burgler are apartments, "our homes in the sun!" they think this is fine because we are all so "loaded" and we can afford it. The way we dress does come into  the equation because Turkish women do not wear our type of clothing,and as Keith said some of the men just can not handle it.
I was attacked at my "place in the sun" in October last year and I never thought i would recover from it because of the nature of the attack, if any one wants the details please feel free to email me, but do not want to post it on an open forum as I still find it to traumatic to relieve it.
I tried to tell me myself it was ok, but truth is it;s not if I could sell my place in the sun and get a new place I would no doubt what so ever. Basically because laying in the sun was such a lovely experience for me, and I have tried but I do not feel the same laying at my pool without another soul about.
And yes these people need to be caught, will they be I do not think so it is a foreighner's word against some b##### pervet.

I don't think it is so much the way we dress as the actions of some of the holiday makers who are going to Turkey.
Young girls and older women throwing themselves at anything with a pulse.  Women having sex with waiters in toilets while the husband sits unknowingly at the bar chatting to the staff who are probably all laughing at him.  Mothers and daughters on the pull together.  
I have even heard of one bar in Hisaronu that has a back room with  a bed.
I would imagine the stories are well emboidered by the waiters at the end of the season and "some" becomes "all" in the perverts mind. They want some action too.
Unfortunately it is the innocent who are being hurt by this.

Well, that was exactly the point I was making.

No you can't blame those targeted, not at all, but it is possible to understand where the mentality of the aggressor started to become detached from reality. I can only hope that the many Turkish people who read CBF, with direct access to the ear of the influential in Fethiye, take this dangerous level of worry to them, and insist SOMETHING is done.

Karennina I can't agree that these attacks are due to style of dress.  In my last post I said that when this happened to me I was dressed in a fairly conservative skirt & blouse.  It's the fact that we are foreign and therefore considered easy game by some. I agree that the behaviour of some makes female holiday makers could feed this perception but there wasn't much of that kind of behaviour years ago and yet these attacks still happened.

I'm sure scum like this would quite fancy having a pop at a Turkish girl, however, they know what the consequences would be if they did.

It's a power thing with a good belt of misogyony mixed in.
