Supermarket wine offers ??
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:45:29 AM »
Given the price of wine in Turkey, I thought it might be useful if anyone in Calis notices a good deal then post it on here.

Now this initiative just might coinside with my visit on the 6th July with 4 wine swigging friends out to celebrate a 50th Birthday!
Gotta get the wine in!!!!!!

Great idea - I will definately participate. We always buy when the wine offers are on - you can feel like a bit of an alcy buying buy the case load but teh savings are definately worthwhile :D The offers never last long though so you have to be quick off the mark.  8)

When I was out last there was a small minimarket in calis ( think it was on the main road by Maria's/Joseph's ) can't quite remember selling wine from 5 ytl a bottle. We bought litres for 8.50 i think it was. Quite drinkable.

I liked Scunners tip and that was to but a box of descent wine in the Duty free as you fly out -if you all do it , that should keep you going for a day or so:D. probably more drinkable than the supermarket stuff. I will definitely by doing this.

we always take some out from duty free.  Strangly enough it never seems to last very long on holiday...perhaps it evaporates in the heat.... ;)

Are you allowed a box of wine and a bottle of spirits ? (that makes me sound like a right p155 artist....)

I'm kinda off fizzy beer and want something different to drink.

littlereddevil, you are nearly right, but the minimarket is closer to the bridge end.He sells Altintepe at 7.50tl,in most supermarkets it sells at 10.50tlplus.But the best deal is the same wine in a plastic dumpy bottle which holds the same volume,ie a litre,for?????????5.50tl.An excellent drink and top value. This is the red,but white is available. If you have a laptop, key in the supermarkets here,ie careffore,Tansas,Gempa etc,and the deals are there
