Just got back yeterday from Calis. Having stayed in Uzumlu the previous 3 years but opting for a change and staying in Calis this year I just had to say I LOVE THIS VILLAGE!!! Although we stayed in Calis we drove to Uzumlu on numerous occasions to sit in the garden of Candida ( think i spelt that wrong) and let the hours blissfully drift away. My husband has stayed on for a further few days in hope of purchasing a piece of land so we can have our own piece of Uzumlu.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
Ok rant over.

Thanks for that Calvin, its the other side of the road thankfully. We did hear something about that land while we were out there. It must be an horrendous situation for the people having villas that side of the village, my best wishes goes out to them and I hope the problem can be sorted out as soon as possible.

Be careful when buying anywhere in Turkey. Look at the land then go back and talk to the neighbours without the estate agent being present. Most agents here are honest but you don't know if you've got a rogue untill it's too late. Even the best people can be hoodwinked by dishonest owners and builders.

Thanks very much for the advise Mikrik.
My husband has paid for someone from land registry/council not sure what they are called, they came out and marked the plot out and had  plans of whats plannned to be built on the surrounding land, other villas and roads ect.
My husband is Turkish and has friends helping him sort through it all so hopefully everything should be ok. Fingers very tightly crossed.

Yes Pookie it does get under your skin.
