Calis to Bodrum?
« on: July 30, 2009, 16:42:44 PM »
Not that I'm not looking forward to spending a fortnight in Calis, but can anyone recommend the easiest and cheapest method for getting to Bodrum?

I have a mate out there for one week during my two so I was hoping to pop along the coast and catch up (and compare other halves)!

My current plan is to hire a car for a week but unless we stop over in Bodrum, I won't be able to have a drink.

It's hard to get out of the mindset that you can just hop on a train and pop to Oxford for the day here in Blighty!  I'm not mega-keen on the idea of staying over but if it's a hassle I'll probably wind up doing just that.  I was kind of hoping that there'd be some sort of organised trip/excursion/camel to tag on to....

It will take you about 3 hours to travel by car to Bodrum. Did it last week and it's a long old day.

Thanks for all the info (I tried searching for BODRUM but nothing came up).

Looks like if I'm going to go, it'll be for two days then....hmmm, ponders.

I like the cut of your gib Redding, and if I'd ever been to Bodrum I would do just that  :)

I suppose Bodrum's not going anywhere soon.

Hi London Cavalier,

See my recent post in the Places to Visit section - coach from the Otogar in Fethiye runs about 4 times a day. 50 Lira return per person and takes about 4.5 hrs with a couple of stops. The coach is small but has air con and was really nice. The trip itself was quite good as well and goes through Mugla etc. Bodrum is well worth the visit !! We used Fethiye Seyahat but other coach companies in the Otogar also go to Bodrum. The Seyahat staff are really friendly and speak good English in the office.
