What an excellent forum.
Thought we'd introduce ourselves, we are Ray and Deb, from Kent. Having been to Calis, we loved it so much, that we are now in the early stages of purchasing an apartment from Nicholas Homes. We have been offered the services of Nicholas Homes lawyers, but not too sure if we should use an independant solicitor in Turkey. Can anyone recommend one or offer any advice?

Ray & Deb   :)

Hi and a very warm welcome to the Forum. Use an independent solicitor recommended. Nicholas lawyers are looking after their interests and not necessarily yours. :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. I would most definitely have my own independent solicitor. I am sure someone on here can recommend one.

The two welcome quotes above are most likley from non Nicolas owners. They provide no solicitor info.
Selva at Nicholas in our opinion will look after Nicholas interests and yours to a greater extent, if concerns arise ask Selva the contracts are not rocket science. Most Nic Owners will have used Selva. The laws are pretty good here not easy to ignore for anyone. The choice is always yours.

Hi! Brian,

Presuming your quote was in connection to my quote. We have no interest in Nicholas other than we have been Nicholas owners for a long time. We are here because we love the place. Well retired and love to travel. We also see our builder being critcised by persons with no practical experiences. No conflict of interest. Maybe redressing the balance. The quip expression is a little out of place and well off the mark. Us mortals are allowed our views too..

I was not making any reference to you at all! I am pleased that you are happy with your purchase as after many years we are too.  Who you or I bought from is totally irrelevant in this matter. What does matter when something goes wrong in a purchase which does happen albeit in a very very small number of cases the same solicitor cannot possibly bat for both sides. I had an instance in the UK where where my buyer and I both had the same solicitor but he refused to act for both of us for ethical reasons. :)
