Antalya to calis beach
« on: August 10, 2009, 11:04:00 AM »
Hello to all,

Just returned from a great holiday staying at the Pelin Hotel in Calis.  flights where expensive to Dalaman but I notice they can be got about £100 cheaper if I fly to Antalya.

Please can someone tell me how far this is?  Also how much a shuttle bus would be.

Thanks
Paul

A taxi from Antalya Airport to Antalya Otogar will cost between 35 and 50 TL. If the Havas bus timetable fits in with your arrival at the airport the fare from there to the Otogar is 10 TL per person.

Buses from Antalya Otogar to Fethiye Otogar run between about 7am and Midnight and the fare is between 20 and 25 TL per person. The journey time is 3 and a half to 4 hours.

thanks for the quick reply.  Can't decide if the £100 saving is worth the extra travel.  Would be good to hear from someone that has made this trip.

I've done the trip a couple of times. If you're on your own and haven't got a fractious Mrs or kids to worry about it's OK. But, it can add between 6 and 8 hours to your journey, so you've got to decide whether the money's worth it.

If you're arriving on a night-flight there's a pretty good chance that you'll miss the last bus out of Antalya and will be at least a couple of hours too early for the first bus. Mind you, the benches at the Otogar are reasonably comfortable to sleep on. :D

By the sounds of it probably not work the effort.  Think Ill just look for cheap flights from London to DLM.

Thanks again.

So to save £100 on a return journey, you'd spend in the region of 150 - 200tl on the travel & loose up to 16 hrs of your holiday, think that's maybe a no brainer!

Main problem is that the shorter route is over mountains & there are no motorways ;) The long route is along the coast on a road not disimilar to the Amalfi coast in Italy
