Not wishing to defend Mike Ashley in any way but it does seem like it was done by a member of staff and Sports Direct knew nothing about this. They have acted swiftly to stop this happening again.

I think the Manure fan who requested this to be printed is the one to blame, along with the member of staff who printed this highly offensive shirt.

From my VERY limited experience in this store in Leeds the people who serve you are most likely to be 16-18 year olds. Possibly between school and further education, at best they were babies when this happened. I can not believe that anyone would do this knowing the full meaning. Store staff no...maybe someone with other reasons i.e. people wanting to cause unrest.

One of my sons has been in sports retail all his working life, including retail manager at a premier league club, and he did'nt know the significance of this.He said fans are constantly having their own wording on shirts and provided it's not knowingly offensive(ie,swear words)they will print it.I think the idiot who ordered the shirt should be prosecuted for Incitement. If the police wont do it maybe the Hillsborough Committee could take out a private prosecution?
