looks like not much going on,i am going back to uk,we dont want to do another winter here, having done the last 3 winters here i think thats enough, nothing worse than going into cold bars then home to cold house, you cant beat the old central heating, switch your tv on and watch whatever you want,it might be cold in scotland but not as cold as it gets here.cant wait for the haggis supper.and rab c at new year.

I have to disagree we had a brill New Year in Calis 2 years ago, much better than at home in the uk, we went to the Nil Bar for new years eve and had a great night and at 12 midnight we all stood on the sea front watching the fireworks going off in Fethiye.
We vowed then we wouldnt spend another New Year at home and are out again this New Year.
Unless things have changed since then quite a few bars were open, even the Sunday market.
We hired a car for the week and just went exploring, the weather was warm in the day but by about 4-4.30 as soon as the sun goes down it did get very cold.

gavos it might not be the most helpfull answer but it took 4 days to get an answer,i can tell you by experience that at that time of the year the bars and hotels that (are) open will welcome you in with open arms as they can make a killing, for your meal it is not much more than a sunday dinner (but twice the price)at the end of the summer season you will find most of the bars will close for winter but just watch how many will reopen just for the festive season, you can see that more of the expats are clicking on and doing the all inclusives elsewhere.happy holidays.

only a few people dessert to the comfort of a 5 star hotel
if you are here on boxing day theres a boxing day fancy dress swim run by the calis carnival committee
