There was a very bizare twist to a Road accident near Marmaris which sadly resulted in loss of life. It seems that one of the vehicles involved was a lorry transporting bee hives. The pi$$ed off bees apparently hospitalised twenty or so rescuers and onlookers before being subdued by beekeepers in protective clothing.

This terrible accident happened not on the Marmaris road but half way up the hill leading out of our village.1000's of bees descended on the village and warnings were put out on the loudspeaker system.

We find the speaker system in our village useful not only telling us about forthcoming events but also prior warnings of disruptions to services as well as emergencies such as the bee invasion.Recently after someone put poison down they broadcast warnings to pet owners in German and English as well as Turkish.

1. Someone stated that PA announcements were given out at the location

2. Someone else said bees are ok but bad if p****d off

3. I made a tongue in cheek link between the two statements

I KNOW the speaker system is useful (*sigh*)

Since I get an anaphylactic reaction to bee stings (and have to carry adrenaline pen and steroids) I am very pleased not to have been in the village this week. I hope everything has settled back to normal by next Monday.
