Nicky at the Park Hotel in Calis has offered to host a Mr. and Mrs Night on Friday 16 October - adult questions only! and it should be a great laugh.  Further details will follow but please make a note of this date in your diary.  Entrance will be by ticket only and will include a meal with a donation from each going to the Carnival charities - further details to follow...........:D:D

Tell her that whilst she was out you heard a strange noise in the bedroom - you grabbed the first thing to hand (the vase) and went to investigate (it's the manly thing to do). Upon entering the room you found a gang of international shoe thiefs ready to make off with her prized collection - you knew how upset she would be if all her shoes were stolen so you hit the ring leader with the vase - and chased them all out of the apartment/villa.  

End result - she's happy the vase is broken.... even happier she still has her shoes......she thinks you are a hero and will be willing to show her appreciation of you for many weeks to come.  Plus she'll tell all her friends what a wonderful husband you are.    

Advice - don't try and hide what you have done she'll find out in the end (women always do) and then there really will be trouble - just come up with a tale that shows the breakage as a positive thing :-)
