Dangerous Escalators

The escalators at Dalaman airport are stationary until a sensor picks up your movements. A friend of mine walked up the down escalator by mistake and was badly hurt when she reached the top where the sensor set the escalator moving. Her legs were badly gashed and it also cost 90 lira for her to be treated with iodine etc.  :o

The signs for the escalators are very small and near to the ground and I believe they are in Turkish too.

I hope that she recovers well too.

Cikis means Exit

Giris means Entry

I am not sure what the signs say for the escalators.

Just be careful as the signs are quite low down and you may not spot them.  :)

I was a bit confused by those escalators - it was the first time I had come across them (October) - fortunately somebody who pbviously knew how they worked used them (giving me a pitious look) started them moving so I hopped on as well but I would agree they are a bit dangerous.
