My immediate impression is that you came here to try and cause trouble for the fund raisers. I don't think you will.

Scunner, I did apologise for my error, as I said I will take a look soon at the Mimoza. I know it to be a very good restaurant, as I've eaten there before, in the summer. I didn't post to cause any trouble and am all for fund raising, whether it be for animals or children and have supported both charities recently, by attending such events.:(

Tinks, I was trying to find out information, this is what this board is about isn't it? I don't know if anything is happening at Anna's, as there are no flyers up, but I have heard that several bars are holding events on 23 December and am trying to find out which ones. Perhaps I've gone about it in the wrong way, I should have started a thread asking the question.

Anyone who has been a member on this forum for more than five minutes will be well aware of this tactic - new member signs up, quick intro, lay into some topic or other. MEANING: I came here to ONLY try and discredit someone/something.

The people running the official charity won't be drawn into these attempts to undermine their efforts so it's left for me to say it.

You obviously favour the unofficial event; it is NORMAL to talk up the things you favour rather than attempt to bring the other down. That is quite pathetic as tactics go and I feel you did the organisers of the event at Anna Bar a great disservice tonight.

I'm sorry I gave you that impression scunner, I'm not a tactician and am not into discrediting people or events, I support as many as I can, on my downgraded income. I didn't know there were two events, as I've said elsewhere in this thread, but I was trying to find out. From what you have said, there is another event, so I have gained some information, thanks. Now, do I go and hide under a rock, or can I talk freely on the board. It's not been a great way to welcome a new member, if I still am a member?

Mybe it is normal behaviour for someone to arrive and only have interest in one topic, to suggest to everyone that the venue for their fund raising evening night will be "damp and cold" and to ask the organiser of said event whether a rival event is happening.

As Kevin says, we have a forum here that couples great information with great humour and that is what you are invitited to participate in.

John if you had read this topic from the start it would have answered all your questions :)

I think the best thing you can do is buy some tickets now:D

I did read the topic from the start and it didn't answer all my questions, that's why I asked some, I have an inquisitive mind. If you are having the "official" event at Mimoza's and may be Anna's is having the "unofficial" event, doesn't that split the charity proceeds and make both events less effective in raising funds. I do hope the animal sanctuary will not be getting the sh*t end of the stick.

Great scunner, thanks for your invitation. I have a sense of humour just like most people, but as I'm a man, I can't multi-task, so I started on the topic that interested me at the time. I may well move onto others at a later date, but which ones, is for me to choose. They were valid questions that I asked and should have been treated as such. There is not long till 23 December. :D

Erm...YES I think that is the point

CBF supports the official charity and wishes them well for the 23rd  :)
