I used to be happy with the service of THY but after having delay for 4,5 hours and seeing people who have 7 hours delays, made my thoughts changed.
They combined 3 flights, packed the passengers of that 3 flights in to one flight. Some passengers had 7 hours some had 4,5 hours delays. They saved the expense of 2 flights which is a big money. The plane was very dirty and stifling. After arrival, we realised that our 2 luggages were damaged. I sent a complain letter to THY, but guess what happened ? They answered me with an e mail full of lies. So I am making complaints to other places.
Today, I heard another horror story from one of my friend who is coming from London to Dalaman via Istanbul. Their flight delayed (as usual) and they missed the plane from Istanbul to Dalaman. They were told to wait for next day !!! At the end they were put to Izmir flight and were brought to Dalaman airport by a coach from Izmir (4 hours drive). THY didnt even offer to leave them to Fethiye, just left them at Dalaman airport. And their luggages are lost !!!
I know it is not easy to make a complaint to Turkish authorities as a foreigner, but I advised them to make a complaint to Star Alliance

I dont know if their TV advert with Kevin Costner is on English channels. In that advert, there is a nice song "I feel like a star", they should change it to "I feel like a s**t "
