Multi entry visa is the £10 UK entry tourist visa isn't it?

The single entry (rip off visa) is the one purchase via the Embassy in London prior to entry, a friend purchased one for the year thinking they got a bargain,a few months later they had to return to the UK for personal reasons, on their return to Turkey they were asked for £10 for the tourist visa as the one purchased in the UK was no longer valid as they had left Turkey.

Have read the postings for ordinary 3 month tourist visa £10.00 v £100, could it be that someone has misplaced the decimal point?

An interesting comparison here is that the cost to a turkish national for a five year visa to UK is only 1000 lira.So how does that compare with so called compatability between UK and turkey?

A 3 Month Residence Permit (Ikamet) is £100

A 90 Tourist Visa is £10

There's a huge difference in price between the 2, and also huge advantages to having a Residence Permit versus a Tourist Visa.

KKOB I would be grateful if you could elucidate what these are as apart from not being able to have a telephone in my own name and own a Turkish registered boat I haven't found any advantages apart from not having to make the run to Rhodes or Kos.

You'll have difficulty in buying a vehicle as they now require a Foreigner Kimlik Number to register the vehicle in your name. To obtain a FKN you must have, or have held, a Residence Permit.

You can get a big discount on medical treatment if you hold a Residence Permit.

You must have held a RP for at least 5 years before you can apply for Turkish Citizenship.
