Just having a joke with you.  :)Britain was invaded by the Romans (Italians)Normans(French)Vikings(Scandanavians)years ago. We had the Windrush ship bringing Jamaicans over after the war and greeted thousands of Commonwealth immigrants. We have now thousands of people from Poland and eastern Europe. Many Turkish people already live in Britain, the owner of the Artemesia in Ovacik was one of my neighbours there. His son is now becoming a doctor. If you go to Haringay in London it is a thriving Turkish community.
What do you suggest we do if this is not to our liking. We ARE part of the EU.If a lot of us Brits go back into our past we are a mixture of a lot of races. :)

I love my country warts and all, ok so it is not perfect - but where is. I am very happy here. I can think of places where I would not want to live and the UK is not on the list.

i am not saying anything bad about your country at all. i just wrote what i did not like like you write about turkey, like price of beer, hassling of waiters at the restaurant doors, local council and i agree with you all.many people have been writing many things about turkey and never become a problem so is this it that someone wrote something about uk and you all became nationalists?

What an absolute load of old rubbish. The Poles in the UK are allowed under EU law to travel to and work, quite freely in the UK, for which they pay UK taxes and NI. They are not taking something for which they have not paid (benefits, healthcare etc) and are not taking jobs away from those UK residents. A lot of those on the dole do not WANT the types of jobs that the Poles and other legitimate non-UK take up, and would rather sit on their backsides taking money from the state, than work these type of jobs (who then is sponging from whom). Also the NHS could not function without foreign workers. Many such as Poles, Pakistani and Indians, are superbly qualified as doctors, surgeons, and consultants, and treat all UK and EU residents for free, from the NHS, at point of contact. If someone comes to your country, is prepared to work, and work hard, pay taxes etc, what is the problem? Not many so called Brits, can trace their roots back to confirm only true British heritage. Most of our forefathers were exactly like the Poles of today, namely economical migrants. And Ytokgoz if Turkey ever join the EU, the SAME regulations will apply to your country!!

Daffodil and Woodies; wish I could have put it so well myself.

I believe that we should do to others as you would have done to yourself.

I don't want to see people die because they can't afford health care, I don't want to see people living in poverty because there isn't a welfare state, I don't want to watch people in other countries dying from war and famine or being raped and tortured and turn my back.

There are many people of different races and nationalities that live and work legally in the UK because they have that right coming from member states of the Commonwealth of Nations (all but two are from the British Empire!) or they are from countries in the European Union.

Regardless of your nationality if you work in the UK you pay taxes and taxes are what pay for Health and Social Services which ALL that live there can benefit from when they need to.

Incidentally, less than 3% of the world's population lives outside their country of origin. World population 6,794,800,000
