Border Regulations - Dalaman 1st Feb onwards
« on: January 14, 2010, 19:45:01 PM »
Hi - Just looking at flythomascook and considering booking a flight when I came to this:

Important: E-Borders information

From 20th January 2010, bookings created that are due to depart the UK from 1st February onwards, please be aware of the following:
For entry to Dalaman, you must provide Advanced Passenger Information between 3 months and 7 days before departure.
When you complete your booking, please go to www.thomascookairlines.co.uk to enter your details.
You will need passport and flight details for all passengers. Failure to comply with all requirements may result in delays, refused boarding or denied entry to the country you are entering. The final decision on entry is determined by Border Authorities. Click here for entry information: www.fco.gov.uk.

Is this widely known or is it something else to ignore?

Most flights ask for this now. Just done it for our flights to Portugal in October and did it ages ago for flights to Thailand this month.

Not yet been asked by Onur Air but I'm sure they will catch up sometime before June.

What happens if you book one day and travel the next day?

It seems to me it is all part of a global obsession of all government bodies to get more information on all of us [:(!]

Flew out to Dalaman this week and had to fill in a health form with info on the flight, address in Turkey details of health, Passport number etc. They were duly collected.  The pilot then announced there weren't enough to go round and they would get some out to the plane before disembarking.......imagine the Chaos that would have caused!
Then they announced the Punch line.......Wait for it.......
Turkey does not require the forms any more so they were all thrown away!!
