The forum has started to liven up again, and have noticed a bit of banter creeping back in, is it because we have all got christmas and january out of the way and are steaming along to our visit to Calis, maybe crabbit will even return, (you never know you luck in the big city) what do you think.:P

I'm not sure of the reason but I don't think that there is any doubt that the Forum has lost some of it's banter to Facebook.

The Forum and Facebook are two different things (platforms). For example it is "easier" to have lots of photos on Facebook and I think a lot of people like that.

Equally, it is "easier" to have a longer debate on matters on CBF.

It would be interesting to know if Scunner has any stats on contributions to the Forum over the last six months compared with same period in the previous year.

Well the holiday season is approaching, so more people are wanting to know what's what.

Argh had my booster injection on Wednesday, so the holiday is becoming more real now.
Nearly 5 months now. Not coming fast enough!

We average around 35,000 posts per year (2006-2009) with a year on year increase, and should be easily passing that in 2010. Our current post count is 297,867. Nov-Feb are the 'quiet' months for CBF, where posting levels are around 60% of the peak month (August). From March through to August post rates (and new members) steadily increase month on month, then steadily decline September - December, staying low in Jan & Feb.

The quietest day is Christmas Day :D

The busiest day of the week is Tuesday. It was traditionally Monday but changed last year. I have no idea why.

So, to answer your question, contributions to CBF increase every year and no noticeable decrease has been seen in any stat  :)

D'you think that the busiest day used to be a Monday as it was "chat" night - I think!  The chatroom doesn't seem to be used any more.  I couldn't access it when the system changed, but it used to be such fun!  :D

No, I don't think that. :D

Monday was always the busiest, long before the chat room came along. I always put it down to people who don't go online much over their weekend catching up on the Monday. If that was true, it doesn't really explain why it is now Tuesday :D
