Cheapest flights I could find.
« on: March 01, 2010, 13:58:18 PM »
Just booked for the summer.. Went into "The Flight Centre" in the City of London.  I asked for the cheapest way to get from London to Dalaman & was told "about £500 a head"  I said I'd think about it.  NO WAY.  After an evening of browsing the web, came up with London to Istanbul - Easyjet  Wait a couple of hours, Istanbul to Dalaman internal flight Pegasus.  Total cost for 4 people £789 the lot.
The best bit is that there os a Bus/coach that connects to internal PGS flights, to Fethiye 20TL per head.
A good deal I think.

Couple of questions for you.1.Does Easy jet go to ataturk,or Sabin gokcen airports.
Reason, Pegasus flies from Sabin gokcen to dalaman as internal flight. So if you do land at Ataturk which is on the European side, you have a transfer ride to the asian side of approx two hours on a fair day "after" clearing luggage customs etc,you could miss the connection. If the easyjet flight does land at Sabin gokcen and you do a transfer to Pegasas without clearing luggage you will land at dalaman internal terminal and then be transfered by bus, to the international terminal to collect luggage and customs etc and may miss the Havas bus to fethiye. Hope this is not double dutch as my mum used to say, but you would be wise to check.J

Easy jet and Pegasus are both using Sabia Gokcen at the moment and would think the same for summer. Havas bus will go to both terminals at Dalaman to pick up passengers. Visas will possibily be purchased in Istanbul, not Dalaman, so it will just be a case of going through passport control at Dalaman, not having to queue twice there. Pegasus fly directly to Dalaman in the summer though, was this not an option? Maybe expensive for that period?

Thanks Lissa, I did look at Easyjet to go direct but they were more awkward because of all the fiddling about I'd have had to do because the kids go back to UK before I go out - it all gets complicated!! I did have a look at PGS but ruled them out for some reason.
You're right about the Visa, get it in Sabiha Gokcen during the layover.
