Hi Guys,

Bit concerned that there seem to be few threads on burglaries around Symbola apartments area! Is this still the case? And is installing Grills (they call them Panjoor or something like that) recommended or not? Would a sticker saying "Beware: I live Here" with a picture of a Rottweiler helps  in anyway?

Also, as I haven't even stayed more than an hour in my apartment yet, I just wanted to get a feel on what's it like living in that area?  And has anyone tried the Gym and the Sauna in Symbola Apart?

No they don't. I went back 30 topics before getting bored and found 29/30 are nothing to do with burglaries. Don't hope you are wrong, know you are wrong.

Anyway, did you say 30/29? well i didn't mean all Turkey Expat forums! I've seen at least 2 threads out of only a hand full in the GreenVally forum (one went on 5 pages!) all to do with the same topic. so mathmatically I was't wrong! but still glad to stand and be corrected {so pointedly}.

Hi Tim,

We also have a place in Symbola (B block), we absolutely love it there, we love the Deliktas area, its beauty, its tranquility, its friendly neighbours, a nice mix of Turkish and Brits (mostly Turkish), but still within walking distance of Fethiye centre.

Have to agree about the negativity of the posts about break ins last year, but that said it must be quite devastating to the victims of these burglaries, however it did make it appear that it was like living in the Bronx,I don't think things are that bad.

Welcome, and maybe bump into you this year we're out June, Oct. and possibly April (working on that one !).

P.S. You'll be lucky trying the gym & sauna, they haven't finished it yet, construction done but not fitted out, been asking Manzara on recent visits  with regard to the completion of them and can't get a straight answer, my guess is they are waiting to complete "D" block (that's where the "wonga" is !!)

Gym and sauna - hmm, no where near finished! Empty dusty concreted rooms only at the present. Grills on doors etc - that would have to be a personal choice. Basically the area is okay, there were a few incidents last year there may be more this year - who knows? Come over and stay for a few weeks and see how you feel then make a decision.
D block is progressing very well - fortunately for me as I am high up my view from the sitting room and main bedroom is not obstructed. Only from the kitchen and to be honest how often do i stand in the kitchen staring out of the window!? The people here are really nice, I am very happy here.
