Hi everybody.I hope to goodness I've put this in the right place. I've never used a forum before and if I haven't....please put me right!!

I stayed in Calis for 10 weeks last year but this year am coming for 6 months of the bliss of wall to wall sunshine and I just can't wait!!

I'm hoping to be able to get help from all you experienced Chalishers out there so I can function a little better than I did last year! Thank you :-)

Thank you!! Well, I'm going to be staying in an apartment where there is no landline and I've bought a notebook laptop (or I'll be totally cut off from my children) and haven't a clue how I shall be able to use it!!

That's number 1 of my ten!

Hi there, welcome to the forum - there is all sorts of helpful info here, and some strange people!!
Has your notebook got WIFI ? If it has, there are various establishments that let you use a laptop by connecting to THEIR internet (which means you can use Skype) to phone the kids or one of the networking sites. If a neighbour has broadband, you could ask them nicely if you can tap into theirs.
Some places have free internet & computers for their customers' use.

Hi Connor. I'm pleased about the information bit but worried about the strange people!!!
I would like to be able to use it in the apartment and someone told me I would have to go to Fethiye to buy a Turkish dongle and then it would be ready to use. I've no idea about the WIFI bit but I suppose it has as its a new one Ive just bought.
Last year I used Carol's computer down at Guvens but as I'll be away for 6 months I'd like to be able to use it in the apartment as and when I choose.
