"Dolphinarium plans create major protest"

I have had the good fortune to be introduced to the Mayor at todays event,i.e.spring fair in Hisaronu, he has invited me to visit his office for a meeting with him, which I will attend this week.I am glad of the opportunity to do so.
I also had the good fortune to meet the Turkish News film crew, and with 3 friends had an interview filmed at the pool side.
This will be screened tonight, Sunday, at 7 pm.
I focused on the detrimental effects such a venture would have on tourism, that it was a worldwide protest, would put Turkey in an unfavourable light, that the mayor is a good man, that the tourists and residents of Hisoranu would be much better served by having a childrens play area or indoor pool. I kept emotion regarding he welfare of the dolphins out of the interview.
It is essential that we keep up the pressure especially on these lines
Please do not leave it for others to do the work, every petition signature or fone call will make the difference, it is just a short time away from the season starting and this concrete fish tank from being completed, Thank you to all who do their bit,
I will keep posting any further developments,

Good for you to have the courage to go today and talk directly to the Mayor. Seems this approach is worth the effort too. Well done  :)

Look forwsrd to hearing how your meeting with him goes too.

The telephone number for the WWF in Turkey is 0212 528 2030
Please ring and voice your concern It is a worldwide force of international standing and must surely be able to help in our campaign.
The email for the lady at WWF dealing with turkish coastal animals is aoruc@wwwf.org.tr

Hi Judith, well done for keeping up the pressure, I have tried to e-mail WWF as above but it keeps bouncing back. I will go onto the WWF site and e-mail them that way!

Hi I am Ibo from Zakkum restauant near Migros how do I get onto the dolphin petition on facebook I would like to sign it I am very much against the dolphinarium because it is far too small and tourists will think badly of our animal rights.
