I got this reply from Hamish McTurk
Hi Linda,

Thanks for your mail. I have just spoken with a lady who lives in KAS and called SUE. She gave me all the information about this matter,i am infromed  which i had no information that Dolphinarium doesn't qualifed all requirements.  What i have spoken with owner of the Dolphinarium to do transportaion from Dolphinarium to the hotels and sell tickets as like all the other agencies but i haven't sign any paper. We only discussed this matter with the Russian man who owns the Dolphinarium. So we are not a partner or running the place. The important thing is that Dolphinarium shouldn't be open in Hisaronu. As a HAMISH McTURK , i will do my responsibility. Thanks for your concern once more. I hope this matter will sort out quicly and peacefuly. We are not the addressed for such a matter. I think legal authorites are the power. That s why you should send all your protestations to Government.

Kind Regards.

Hamish McTurk Travel.

A very productive meeting this morning with Hamish McTurk who was unaware of many of the issues concerning the proposed Dolphinarium and receptive to the information that was provided.

There is a lot going on today (as we speak) so a full report/s will be made later today.

Its all hanging in the balance right now!!!

Thats good news with regard to your meeting with Hamish McTurk, Dolpin Angel....as i type this work is still going on at the pool, more water being added and general clearing off the area, now levelled out, block paving being finished off, more fencing being erected....the work on the pool and area is far from stopped or slowing down.

I had a meeting with Mr Hamish McTurk this morning. He appeared to be genuinly interested in what I had to say about the dolphinarium. We discussed all of the European standards and where the pool fails to comply on all counts.

He had no knowledge of the standards, and although he has not yet seen the pool, had previously expressed his concerns about the location.

He said that he had just been asked to sell tickets and conduct transfers. He also said he had not signed a contract.

I gave him a copy of the standards so that he will be able to ask the relevant questions for himself.

He seemed very grateful for information given, particularly regarding the insurance and health and safety issues. He was  quite clear that his business was of extreme importance to him, and did not want to take part in any activity that would jepordize that.

He was also give a report showing the exact numbers of people who have signed the internet petitions who after all could be potential customers.

I also left copies of the notes we took of the meeting with the Russian man at the weekend and copies of all of the transmittable diseases which will certainly pose a problem should the water quality not be professionally monitered.

My feelings are that he now understands our grave concerns and will certainly re think his position with regard to promoting and being any way involved with this venture.

He agreed that now he has our research and information he is in a better position to make decisions.

He showed me the utmost courtesy and he listened intently throughout our meeting. Having read the replies to enquiries by forum members it seems he has taken what I had to say on board.

If this is the case then he should be respected and we should give him the benefit of the doubt while we wait to see what transpires.

This is the right way to progress and just shows what can be acheived by bringing those involved into dialogue and not making knee jerk reactions.
Anyone can insult and and criticise businesses but the the acheivers are those that go for the win win result for both parties.
This could be an important step forward.

If it turns out that they are, I shall start a new topic "Transfer and Excursion Companies That Don't Support the Dolphinarium", in which all those who qualify can have a free advert and link, just by letting me know they won't be  :)

We think this is an excellent idea.

Confirmed local travel agents who have said they will not sell tickets for this Dolphinarium so far are:

1. Cadianda - and they have a poster against the Dolphinarium on public display in their office.

2. Carole & Tayfun

3. Activities Unlimited

4. ok whose next?
