Excellent insightful article which shows the challenges of releasing captive dolphins into the wild. Thanks for posting. Donna

Today the Ministry of Health issued a Directive - that is another word for ORDER  ;)

As of right now no humans are to get in the Hisaronu Dolphin Pool.

It has been declared unfit and signs have to go up around the pool stating that humans are forbidden to get in the water.

From now on anyone who sees anyone swimming in the pool must report it and make a complaint to the Zabita.

That is step one...

The process for determining the water is safe for the Dolphins is being worked out and information sourced on the internet and from Born Free and WDCS who are working together to support us has been sent to the appropriate people.

There are 23 Dolphinaria in Turkey - who knew there were so many!

All Dolphinaria are going to have their water tested...

Who would have thought such a little Dolphin Park in Hisaronu would lead to a world wide protest and as yet untold impact on the future of Dolphinaria in Turkey.

We are now beginning a journey that might lead to very significant changes in attitudes, practices, policy and legislation in Turkey.

The adventure is just beginning and hopefully before long Misha and Tom will be on their way to a better place.

The issue of Misha and Tom has been raised by the Ministry of Health with the Ministry of Agriculture but as yet we don't know what their response is or will be.

This will be more tricky and there is bound to be some resistance. We will continue to work on this and keep you informed as and when we can

The fight is still not over obviously but we are well on our way to getting Misha & Tom out of the 'HELLHOLE'!!  The impact as you say on all dolphinaria in Turkey hopefully will be as great as what you have achieved so far!!

Great to read, but shameful it got as far as this. Congratulations go to everyone who gave their support and those individuals who gave so much of their time to this cause.
