An update from a facebook group member - not good news please read below.

"Sadly I saw that too & hoped it had closed, but when I went by just after 3.30pm it was open and I could see the legs of tourists in there. I did shout out the car window as I went by that the water was contaminated, but whether they took heed or not I'll never know"

You can if you wish now make a donation directly to Born Free to support their efforts to free Misha and Tom two Bottlenose Dolphins held in captivity in a small concrete tank up a mountain without a sea view... (just in case you only just joined us)

They have been held captive for more than 70 days and live in a cess pit riddled with parasites and other unmentionables.

Thousands of people have brought the campaign to free them to the attention of the world. Many have dedicated the past few months to working tirelessly to see them, not just set free, but rehabilitated and released back to the sea where they belong.

Now we have Born Free on our side already making a huge investment in the planning and preparation that is necessary in the event that Misha and Tom are released into their care.

The rehabilitation will take several months and involve the employment of specialist experts.

If you would like to make a direct donation to support Born Free's work to put Tom and Misha back in the sea please follow the link below, scroll down the page and click where it says

Donate now and support Born Free's campaign to free Misha and Tom

Once you have chosen an amount you can specify that you want your donation to go to Tom and Misha campaign as follows...

(please state where indicated that you would like the funds to go to the Turkish dolphin campaign)

So can we still donate to Animal Aid or have Born free taken over the fund raising?

A message from Born Free for those that aren't on the Facebook group.

"Born Free Foundation is doing all they can to try to ensure the protection of Tom and Misha, the two bottlenose dolphins housed at Dolphin Park in Hisaronu, Turkey.

Following the health check on Tom last week, Born Free is in communication with various parties in Turkey, in order to try and move things to a conclusion....

This is a very delicate situation, and we would ask supporters for patience, while various options are being explored.

Our vet, along with a Turkish colleague, has had a limited access to Misha and Tom but their findings are helping inform plans. For updates visit our Facebook page. Thank you". Daniel Turner Born Free

The Dolphin Angel team here on the ground is in daily contact with Born Free and a Turkish NGO SAD that is now involved and is an essential partner to help us achieve the result we want for Misha and Tom.

We have been able, and continue to provide not just support but invaluable information that has been gathered over the past few months that now informs much of the basis for the options being pursued.

We are not in a position to reveal the details of the options being pursued, as Daniel has said this is a delicate situation but rest assured that the work has not stopped, we are still working 24/7 on this and will continue to do so until this is finally concluded.

You can still donate to animalaidfethiye@hotmail.com via paypal or you can also make a donation to one of us at our forthcoming functions, please make sure to let us know you want the money to go to the Dolphins or the Animal Shelter,  :)when all our bills have been paid and the dolphins handed over to Bornfree all outstanding monies left over in the dolphin fund will be handed over to Born Free
