Bedford to East Midlands Airport

Would anyone be able to tell me the best way to reach East Midlands Airport from Bedford for a person without a car. Train,coach or bus would be fine.

Seriously, get to the M1 slip at J13 and it's one road to EMA

get to juc 13 in a slip! easy to get a hitch that way for sure. or train bedford to bletchley then train up to probally brum then train again. in future best to book brum or mancester as both on direct route on west coast line.

The nearest mainline stations to East Midlands are Derby & Parkway, there's regular bus services between the airport & these stations

Hi Daffodil,

You could consider taking the train from Bedford to Bletchley Railway station then onto Milton Keynes Central or possibly Northampton and then check either of their timetables for onward travel to EMA.

Member of the family is travelling from Bedford to East Midlands Airport.No date set as yet. Surprised that it is so difficult to reach without a car. Thought that there might be a direct route there from Bedford.Looks like a few train changes. Thanks for replies.

I'd certainly check National bus routes - hundreds of coaches must pass within metres of EMA on their way up the M1 - it would be daft not to make it a stop en route. Would certainly be better than two or three train changes.

I used to live a few junctions down from it and used to just drive to the car park.Never realised it would be so difficult to reach from Bedford.As you say coaches must pass by on the M1.

I dont think a Bedford would make it to the East Midlands
