The charge for water seems to have gone up a lot.
On my December bill the charge was 0.79 TL per unit
In February the charge was 0.93 TL per unit
Today's bill has 1.30 TL per unit
Has everyone else experienced the same rise ?

Yes, today's price is 65% up on December.
Strangely, my next-door neighbour ( who is Turkish) is being charged 1.39

Can someone confirm whether or not well water is free or chargeable?  I've seen both answers given on CBF but as we have a well in our garden I'm hoping it's the first answer rather than the second  :)

Well water is free.

Out of curiosity, those with a high unit cost for the water, is the bill in your name or still in the builders name? I have just looked at 3 bills that i pay for friends. 2 are still in the builders name and the unit costs are 1.39 & 1.59. 1 bill is in a private name and the unit cost is 0.74. Confusing or what?

Builders rates are always more than domestic on both water and electric, they should get it changed to their names to get a reduced rate.

Well water is free but needs to be registered both with Aydem (electric board) and at Mugla, it is illegal to get get your property water supply connected to a well for all supplies without doing this first.

I understand that builders costs for water & electric are higher, after living here for 5 years, i still can't get my head around the inconsistency in the cost per unit.As maximumtom says, his cost is 1.30 and his neighbours is 1.39, can any of our Turkish members enlighten us?
