Definately No.1

People plan, look forward to and count down to their holidays too much not to wait and wonder what might happen before/during their break.

I say this as a very fortunate holiday maker who was scheduled to fly out on holiday the day after the terrorist attack on Glasgow airport. I say fortunate as our flight out of Glasgow left at our scheduled time only 24 hours after the incident (all credit to Glasgow airport).

If an incident occurs which prevents flights I would much rather be stuck in my resort than miss my holiday all together - better to be hacked off in the sunshine than at home in UK. 8)

2. will you hesitate but decide all odds being equal you'll come even if there may be another eruption and you could end up getting stuck here a little longer than planned

Only joking. I felt rather sorry for Number 2 since nobody was voting for it.

No 2 for me - But Hesitation would only last for a second.
Within 10 minutes of my flight on the 19th being officially cancelled, I had its replacement booked.
