Hope to see you next month Pat.

When we left to live in Turkey I pondered whether or not to sign P80 or P85 (not sure which now too long ago) tax forms, this informs the tax and Gov offices of your intentions to leave the EU relinquishing most if not all your rights; I was still unsure if I wanted to live abroad at the time and did not sign the papers and submit them, it was just one step far to far.

I have read the different articles on the NHS expats sites and news papers (daily Comics)  the parliament request put forward were never laid out in stone thus leaving many NHS unsure or ignorant of the full implications,  I did speak to the doctors at the time of registering giving full details of our absence, this made no difference to our registering.

Great reference there Loz. For those who are too lazy to click the link...

You can receive free NHS hospital treatment if you:-
have come to the UK to take up permanent residence, for example, if you are a former UK resident who has returned from abroad, or if you have been granted leave to enter or remain as a spouse

I've just ordered the family Indian for tonight's dinner, I'm sitting here with a superb glass of red which cost me £4 for the bottle, browsing at 10.3 Mb/s while watching the Arsenal v City game on ESPN on my iphone.

Where else would I want to be :D

I cant see a problem with expats returning and getting the full benefits or returning whilst living in Turkey, my brother has not worked for 30 years and he has had far more out of the system than I have while he has contributed far less, is this fair, I think NOT, so to all who return to UK for treatment or indeed return to UK to live after living abroad I say THE BEST OF LUCK.

After doing some research on this, I discovered that people who are resident in the UK for tax purposes and therefore paying UK income tax are classed as resident and therefore exempt from charges even if living abroad.

I have my pension paid in the UK and pay tax there (also NI as I have not reached the official retirement age yet).
