I sometimes get really annoyed that ALL the handbags/shoulderbags I have ever purchased have a zip that closes to the back of the bag therefore making it easier for a clever thief to open the bag with out your knowledge Surely it would be safer if the zip  was facing forward and therefore visible at all times This happens with expensive as well as cheap bags  Have any other ladies noticed this fault in design

Have you tried turning the bag around?

is this just in Turkey?
i've bought several handbags recently, here in the uk, and they all have the zip facing forward. what really irritates me, though, is backpacks with the pocket on the front! why there isn't one on the back, which is hidden when wearing the b/pack, i can never understand.

the police here were recently giving cat bells to women (not sure if it was just pensioners) to put on the zips to deter thieves.

It's a similar problem with base-ball caps - I can't find a shop selling those backwards ones.....

Typical women. A man would simply deal with such a trivial problem by walking backwards.

Arrian, I had the same problem as you regarding backpacks and searched high and low for one with a pocket on the back large enough to hold  things like purse, passports etc if you are travelling about so they are much more secure than in a front pocket. There are a couple of backpacks about like this that I've seen and I finally managed to get one from eBay earlier this year.
