Research by the UK's Food Standards Agency in 2006 found that 18.5% of doner takeaways posed a "significant" threat to public health, and 0.8% posed an "imminent" threat.
And Trading Standards officers have found doners with up to 22% fat, and up to 12g of salt - that's two heaped teaspoons, double the recommended daily intake.
99% of statistics are made up on the spot

The difficulty I have with the BBC's daily health warnings is that nothing is quantified -
How many takeaways did they test,(18.5% of what number?) what does "significant" threat mean - you could drop down dead five minutes after eating just one or could collapse in 20 years after eating 6 a day?
We hear daily that this "
could" pose a threat or that "
may" be damaging to health.... well
maybe just balance and moderation
could be the answer?
As for McD's in Fethiye changing all the local kids into porkers - somehow I doubt it... but hey, it's another good topic for the health police to shout about and try to get banned.
