I am also prescribed co-codamol and always take it with me to Turkey. I would not travel without it.   I was told by the Chemist in Fethiye (about three years ago) that there is no codeine in Turkey but he did not tell me it was banned.

Codeine is an illegal drug in Greece but not Turkey.Even if you had a prescription it could cause a problem in Greece.

I think in Turkey it is left up to the pharmacist to decide if they will stock medication containing codeine. A lot do not so it may not be easy to buy.

If you visit a Greek island such as Meis or Rhodes you would be breaking the law by carrying anything containing codeine. Some over the counter medications we buy have codeine in,Nurofen Plus is one so be careful.
No problem in Turkey though.  :)

When we went to Rhodes for a few days, the Customs opened my suitcase and picked up my tablets. The guy asked me "your medication"  I said "Yes".  He just put them back in the case did not even ask me anything about them !!

you can buy most drugs over the counter at chemists in turkey without prescription, for example antibiotics.
however for more potentially dangerous drugs you do need a doctors prescription here.
no problem though, plenty of doctors about !
