my vanity case which was used to tansport all my makeup, lotions and potions has now been degraded to a flip flop holder. I used it to carry 7 pairs of flip flops to Turkey freeing up space in the suitcase.

Last year we were put in the naughty book and we had got the laptop out!!!, so you never know with them at Dalaman, although I would say its obvious that they are tightening up on liquids, hence the reason you cannot take any through the first scanner at Dalaman now but have to buy them inside the airport....at ludicrous prices....

In June I had a bit of sunburn on my shoulders that was sore and itchy, so I saved the teeniest little bit of after sun, but beacause it was in a 200ml bottle, they threw it away, there was so little in it, I would have had to squeeze it out!
I know about the 100ml rule, but it still made me laugh

I dont know Rindaloo about a fold up brolly, I was called over to have my bag looked inside and she said did I have an umbrella in the bag to which I said no, then she said did I have something in there that looked liked an umbrella I still said no, what I could not understand id it had been through the scanner so if I did have one in there they would have seen it anyway! so we came away none the wiser at all.

There is a 100ml restriction on liquids at all Airports.  At Aberdeen/Glasgow/Edinburgh/Heathrow they give you a free plastic bag to put your liquids in.  At J.F.K. they charge you 50 cents for a bag.  A good  tip for ladies who like to take perfume in their bag is ask at the Beauty Counters in shops for free sample bottles or sachets of perfume which are very small and ideal to take in your bag for the trip.  The Beauty Counters will always give them out, and particularly if you are buying something.

I had a 150 ml body spray bottle that clearly had about 10 ml liquid in it & they took it. Bed they have a good old share out at the end of the day! Mind you if I hadnt put it in a clear bag it probably would have gone unnoticed as afterwards I realised my contact lens f!uid and lipstick were in my hand luggage and werent queried

We got home yesterday, we flew out of Dalaman. We were made to throw 3 x small plastic bottles of water away before being allowed through to air side. The security guy was not interested in the suspicious looking plastic pouch containing a blue jelly like substance (ice pack).
Surprise, surprise.....cost of small bottle of water air side - £2.20p (99p in Manchester)!
