swiming pool lights
« on: July 26, 2010, 14:54:59 PM »
Has any one found a set of 12v swimming pool lights that will work for longer than a fort night? i find that as soon as you have to break the seal to replace the lamp you might as well throw them away as they seem to not last 5 min even from new 3 weeks is pushing it

i have even bought ones from the uk and they have not lasted much longer than the so called  expensive turkish ones !!!but none seem to last i have had the wiring checked  out by electricians they cant see why

any thoughts would be appreciated

Ours seem to be ok, no problems as far as I am aware. Not sure what make they are though. I wonder if the fluctuations in electricity supply are just blowing the lamps.

We got LED pool lights after having bulb after bulb blow in our old lights.  It's too early to say if they are any good, but the light isn't as nice, I think.

We got a new light fitting this year the guy replaced the whole thing including bulb, came out in a van and his bill was 35 lira.  I don't think this was really expensive.  The light seems to be working fine now.  We occasionally replace our lights but not that often.

DANKY I suggest that you (or get someone else to do it for you) check the output voltage from the transformers driving the 12V system. It may be over voltage.
