Hi All,

Well I have booked my flight and I am extremely excited/nervous to be returning back to Calis in just four weeks!!!

Anyway I saw a post about the daily boat trips with Carole and Tayfun and had a look at a few other activities.

Has anybody done the scuba diving day?? I would love to dive but have never done it before but for £30 can you really go wrong?
It is a full day though and I am just wondering whether it is diving all day or whether you get the chance to chill and do a bit of sunbathing? I am only there for a week (6 full days) and therefore want to get some sunbathing in but also want to make the most of things to do!!

So 12 island tour or scuba diving??

x

For £30 you will be having a try dive, which will probably last no longer than 30 mins and the rest of the day for sunbathing and watching the other divers come and go.

I recently did the try dive at Likia world. 38 EUR but that included

9am start with some training and explanation talk first which was very entertaining and done by Alf who previously built up the biggest Dive centre in the Med in Turkey.

a 30 mins swim with a one to one instructor - you can feed some fish while down there too

lunch at Likia World - a place with a reputation for out standing food selections

and then in the afternoon you can either lounge around at any of the pools or go on their boat trip to Butterfly Valley 2.30 - 4.30pm

Not a bad price for all that and the only Dive Centre to offer the one to one which for someone like me was definitely needed.

Its such a good deal a day pass to Likia actually costs more than the try dive day package.

have done it a few times, i found mermaid and eurodive the better but cant comment on lykia as have not tried them, every time was instruction and dive in the morning and dive in the afternoon, well looked after by pro divers when under water, great experience, was thinking of going for open water ticket.

We have done a few times before
good day out as long as everyone is diving
two 30 min dives. Don't pay more than 30gbp. A few agents are attempting to charge 35gbp. Carol and Tayfun office in Fethiye tried this with us last night despite their website stating 30gbp

I would say you would be very lucky to have 2 try dives for £30, if you could let me know where I may give them a try for my diving, as we pay a bit more than that and we don't need one to one with an instructor anymore(after doing 334 dives ;)), and I generally get good discounts.

Both European diving and DiverDelight are now £52 and £54 for 1 dive, lunch and then stay on the boat in the afternoon, while the people doing courses are diving. Not sure how much Elite, Mermaid or Dolphin charge but it will be more than £30 for 1 dive. As Nicola said on her post LykiaWorld for the try dive it's £38 also lunch and a boat trip.

You can definitely do 2 x 30 min dives for 30gbp with Mermaid because I just booked this (3 divers). We just went down to where there boat is and booked. Most of the agents will say 35gbp but you can bargain down
