Hi All

Just had our Pegasus (PGT494) flight on Monday 9 August from Gatwick to Dalaman cancelled,(operational reasons given.) Absolutely steaming.[:(!]
Have managed to get an alternative flight with Pegasus on 7 Aug from Stansted via Istanbul to Dalaman. Have never flown this route before.
On arrival at Istanbul do we need to collect our cases and check in for the domestic flight or are they automatically transferred by Pegasus. Have about an hour between arriving and then departing for Dalaman.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Rayza

Usually if travelling by same airline your bags would be checked through to Dalaman, they will tell you at Stansted when you check in and you will be given seats and boarding cards for both flights. When you arrive in Dalaman they will transport you from domestic to the international terminal so that your bags go through customs.

Just traveled through Istanbul to dalaman.
We were lucky our onward flight to dalaman was
delayed or we would have missed it.
You have to get your visa and then go through
passport control. Then upstairs to domestic departures,
go through security control, then find your gate number.
That hour go's very quick!
Only good news is your luggage is transfered to your next flight.
Good luck.

I have also travelled this route, and yes it is a quick hour to catch the Dalaman flight. But Pegasus were waiting for a delayed flight from Germany where some passengers also needed the Dalaman leg, and the flight to Dalaman did wait till all passengers were on the plane before it took off. So even if the Stansted to Istanbul leg is a little late, you should have no problems at all.

Thanks to all for your replies & advice. Much appreciated

Jenny
We booked in February with Pegasus, so really cheesed off our Gatwick flight for Monday 9 August was cancelled yesterday. However, Pegasus did offer us the Dalaman via Istanbul route on Sat 7 Aug, which we have taken.

Amazing what you do just to get to Calis

Rayza.

I've just been contacted by Pegasus regarding our flight on 13/8 Gatwick to Dalaman. They have put us on an Onur air flight 15 mins later. They said they are using a smaller aircraft and needed to transfer some passengers. A bit concerned as he told me to keep my mobile on at all times in Turkey in case they need to contact me regarding our return flight. Oh well as long as we get there.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Goldtrail and perhaps excess capacity?

I think Pegasus have over booked and are using operational reasons as an excuse. I doubt that any package holiday booking have been cancelled due to the knock on effect, transfers, hotels etc. It's much easier to fob off seat only passengers and offer a refund.

Be persistant and ask Pegasus what alternative flights they can offer you if your flight is cancelled.
