Keith i put a post on the other which i cannot find now anyway ,but it was are there any good restaurants in  this area  or are they all in the hotels ,you have stated in another post that the food in club letoonia is superb can anyone go there i have never heard any write ups about it where else is there ,not the normal places im not a snob with food and being a chef most of my life does not make me look for problems in the places i eat,i love the local food although i haven't a clue how its made ,proper food cooked the proper way how a proper chef would cook it in any country in the world, dare i say it but i do believe that whatever country you go to a MacDonald's is the same so i am told  ,that is what i am saying i have recently been to a calis restaurant went to order a steak Diane one of my favorite dishes and happened to see the ingredients included anchovy essence i dont think so when confronting the manager  about this he said they had problems getting Worcester sauce rubbish bull **** ,we left there were 6 of us , [^]

I doubt Letoonia would get many Michelin stars Lance, I meant that rather than seeing reheated slop on TV when the subject of all inclusive restaurants in Turkey comes up, it would be nice to show some of them that do a good quality AI. I understand you can get a one day/one night pass for most of the decent AI hotels.

I think I got the gist of what you meant Lance. Anchovy essence in a Steak Diane sauce? Never heard that one before. Worcestershire sauce is the way to go.
BUT  a local restaurant owner may well claim he has difficulty in getting Worcestershire sauce here in Turkey. What he means is " I can get it at any of at least ten shops in Calis / Fethiye - but am not prepared to pay the ridiculous price!"
Happy hunting for a 5 Star restaurant!

Curiously, the " secret ingredient " in the Steak pie that won the UK championship in the 1990s WAS ANCHOVY essence!
Made immortal in the TV programme "Pie In The Sky".:D

We found the food at Letoonia when we stayed very good, particularly the evening dinner meals.  There was a main serve yourself Restaurant with really lovely food and fabulous sweets, and a smaller restaurant also buffet.  Also they had  three restaurants with table service, you had to book them early in the morning to get in.  One was a Japanese sushi restaurant, but my favourite was the beach restaurant where all the  tables were on the small beach at the back of Letoonia.  It was such a lovely setting.  The food was really first class and when it got dark a boat came into the cove with a guy on the front swinging balls of fire.   With this fire he lit up torches placed high in the surf.   This restaurant also had live music.  I hear you can get a day pass for Letoonia, I don't think you would be disappointed with the food.
Letoonia was nothing like this awful place in Marmaris.

Lance. You must surely have realised by now that the menu expression " cooked with " means only ****** with a so-and so sauce poured on. Your UK catering experience must certainly have taught you that!
