I will start with what I remember and let Dincer help...or perhaps even share a different point of view. We met in the Student Union at the University of Michigan in perhaps Feb. or March of 1961. I had just returned to Ann Arbor after being an exchange student at the University of Sheffield in Yorkshire for a semester. Dincer was studying for his MA in engineering. I was 21, he was a little older. We talked, we laughed, we feel in love.....Chapter 2 from Dincer.....

yes..I would say we had wonderful time and as a result a beautiful friendship developed which as you can see lasted up today... Lili came with me to Turkiye in Aug of 1962.. It was a short stay for only 3 weeks..eventhough we were communicating so often and had sweet dreams for future , my obligations did not let me go back for a long time ..the next time I saw Lili it was in Jan 1966 in Detroit..and she was already married..It was an overnight visit for me on the way to New York...where I lived and worked there after.. I remember we were reconnected once more I think in 1992 or 93 and talked on the phone a few times..but later lost contact again until I saw her posting in this Calis Beach forum.. I hope this time we will keep in touch all time ..we are very happy now ..thanks to the Calis Forum..it was great..keep up the good work..Lili may have more to say ..maybe....

Lovely picture and right vintage...almost. As struggling students, our budgets didn't quite allow surroundings like that...but it ALWAYS felt like that!
