Mangals, Pastries & Pies , Serkul 1 & The Sim Bar
« on: August 29, 2010, 12:57:01 PM »
Have to mention Mangals for value for money & great food. On our 1st visit there I had meatballs which were delicious & my partner had a chicken kebab, we had a mixed salad, chips (the best we tasted) and a large bottle of water all for 27 lira!  The kebab looked so nice we returned on another occassion so I could try one too, this time we both had chicken wraps, with salad & Efes all for 17 lira! Really nice staff & well worth the extra distance we had to walk.
We also visited Pastries & Pies where the lovely lady offered to make us a steak pie ready to pick up the following day as all the ones she had already prepared had egg wash on (partner allergic!) A real lovely touch I think. True to her word it was ready the following day & was delicious.
Serkul 1, still enjoyed the food as much as last year, in fact I would go as far as to say it was better, had a warm welcome from Harry, Mahor & Adem although the place was definately missing Halit/Andy and Baris' touch!
The Sim Bar...our 1st stop every evening on our way to dinner for a cold Efes, lovely grounds, nice friendly staff, Pam very bubbly!! Thank you all.

Interesting stuff. It's also interesting to see how us Brits have to add an 's' to the end or 'the' to the front of bars and restaurants :D

Here we have Mangals, Nil bar becomes The Nil, The Orient, Anna Bar is often Annas bar on here. No offence to you Lynn, everyone seems to do it  :)

Another Mangal fan here.  Great food and service at a good price.  Definitely on my list for my visit end of September.

Mangal is in Bridge Street (the bar/restaurant street leading up from the beach/bridge). Coming away from the sea it is on the right hand side after the bridge about half way up. Very good it is too.
