Package holiday for flight only

Are there implications if a package holiday is booked to reap the benefit of cheap flights? Has anyone done this before?

I'm sure I've read of it being done in the past Pookie.
Just make sure you tell the tour rep that you won't be going to the hotel etc

Have done that a few times, and as said tell the rep of your intentions.
But its been a while since I have seen packages cheaper than flight only, Goldtrail used to be the one for that - maybe one of the reasons they folded.

Hope Mr & Mrs Pookie get talking again.................

I did it a few years ago with H4U, Told the rep at the airport that I wanted dropping off before the hotel I had booked and asked them in resort what time they will pick me up from the original hotel.
No problem rep was very helpful and they picked me up when they said they would.
I looked at doing it again for October this year but managed to get flights in the end.

Ive done this twice before and had no problems, but i would advise you to tell the rep at dalaman as you could be holding everyone else on the transfer coach up,as they will be looking for one more passenger.Apart from doing that i cant see a problem, some times it works out cheaper than a flight doing it this way.Good luck.

I just feel for the hotels trying to make a living. They get a pathetic amount from tour operators something like £1 a room per night. They rely on extras like bar & restaurant takings to make a living over a short season. If they are expecting guests via a package deal and those guests have no intention of even arriving at the accomodation its hard for them.
