Pete and chrissie My very good friends. Who are as honest as the day is long. As you know rumours can destroy peoples lives. Your both still doing the carnival where most people would say what the hell i cant be bothered. Keep your heads held high guys and all on the committe. Good old calis and the sad and dispicable  expats who gossip, GO TO HELL  where you belong.

As it seems these scumbags are known to so many people and I can understand the reluctance to name names why not take some pictures of the bars they just happen to be drinking in at the time: :)

Well I know how it feels as well and some of the adverse comments have come from not just nasties but folk who you would think should know better, I once heard the laughable suggestion I bought a car from FIG's proceeds, if that was so one wonders how FIG regularly manages to raise and pass on such large amounts of money for the benefits of many schools and children.

It is the reputations of FIG and Calis Carnival, that matter more than our personal ones, but you cannot entirely seperate the two, however where it really matters, with the respected and responsible members of the local Turkish community in Fethiye, both our organisations have a very high standing and a great deal of respect.

It is actually laughable that any one should give any credence to these wicked pieces of gossip and I feel we have to try our best to leave them in the rubbish bin they deserve to be in by scorning any one who can even think they are credible, after all no one ever comes up with any evidence to support them.  It is almost certainly just jealousy from those who resent others 'looking' important (simply 'cos they have got off their b.ms to help others) when they themselves do nothing but exercise their elbow and their jaws.

We all know that our actions are honest, are in line with local laws and details of income and spending are all checked and acredited.
Just take a deep breath do a reality check and ignore the b.....s!

They are just sad idividuals with nothing remotely interesting in their pathetic little lives.

Please keep up the good work as you have made a big difference in Calis Beach. Something these rumour mongrels (not a spelling mistake) could never hope to do.

And did you think "I think Pete's had one too many"? :D

Seriously, I would have. Loz and I have been discussing this topic (the Carnival, not Pete having a brandy!) on email and I was saying how it is a miracle the carnival even got going. Back in whenever (2004, 2005?) it would have been a ludicrous idea, forget it man!!! You want to do something there is absolutely no history of, close roads, collect money in buckets in a country where you need to fill in 3 forms to collect your dry cleaning??

Two people, neither exactly fluent Turkish speakers with plans to close Calis down for a day because trucks will be driving at 2kmph decorated to look like a beach or a spaceship, yeah good luck with the Belediye with that one Chrissie!

Just look at the achievement. A proper carnival, not a compromised version. Something other resorts can only dream about.

They couldn't have done it unless they were good honest people with hearts in the right place, that's the point. If anyone in authority even suspected it was something of a 'nice little earner' for them I'm sure they wouldn't have even let it get off the ground.

And ultimately we had two people running the show who's honesty and integrity is so impeccable that the question never once came into my head. Same goes for each and every member of the committee that I know - a table of gentlefolk.

That's it, I'm not praising Squiffy anymore!!!

I have never been lucky enough to be in Calis for the carnival, but I have witnessed some of the preperation put into the fundraising...the auctions, the boot sales and the fantastic christmas fayre, which attracted so many people from other resorts.
The work that the committee put into raising money to help the children is greatly appreciated by those of us who love Calis.
The efforts of altruistic people will always be reviled by a minority as they themselves cannot comprehend a selfless act.
Thank you Pete and Chrissy and all of the committee for everything you do, and thank you Keith for the brilliant photographs that remind us again of the fruits of their work.

Brilliant work,A hard job done by honest sincere people
shame some people  dont donate 3-4 prices of a bottle of efes weekly then
we would see an even greater return than the tremendous amount raised by everyone.
and the beer goggle brigade  would stop spreading the manure they do.

Well how disgusting!! I loved the reference skip lickers but I think the gossips are "lavvy lickers" coz all they do is talk sh*te!.
I listened to Chrissie & Pete telling me about their  wonderful adventure back to the UK to visit elderly family and how quickly their joy must have been short lived to come back to all this rot. Folks need to observe them and their committee at work for the good of the under privileged kids of the area. Same goes for FIG, Animal charity and Embrace folks. The fundraising is tireless. Makes me very humble and emotional to see ex pats doing all this work in another country. You all should be revered, not slandered or insulted by these bawbags!!!!
