Some friends have just got back from Lara Beach resort, they said it was fabulous and would highly recommend it
they also said it was out of the way and they felt they did not get to know the real Turkey.

You are only about 20 minutes and 1.5 lira on the Dolmuş from Antalya city centre.

There are masses of superb five star hotels/resorts in Antalya, but I would recommend those at the Kemer side of Antalya as you have forests and mountains close by whereas the Lara beach end is rather flat and less interesting.  A trip up Tahtali mountain in the cable car is to be recommended as well.

Most of the hotels in Lara put on a free bus into The old town of Antalya. It is a really nice place and there is plenty to look around. There is the waterfall at dudum not far from Lara and there are plenty of buses into the city centre. We will be going at Xmas when the temperatures are lower, We always go for a long stroll on the beach on Xmas day then back to sit in the sun for our Xmas lunch. The hotels put on entertainment. Not Brilliant but we always have a great time. The food and the staff are excellent. 5 days 4 nights all inclusive 110 quid what more could you ask for? Our hotel is actually The Lara beach not the Lara Spa resort which is rated 2nd in Lara itself on Trip advisor but is more expensive. My friends all say it is superb. Unfortunately it was closed for a refurb when we tried to book it.

We have stayed at the Lara Beach Hotel and really enjoyed ourselves, have also stayed at the Concorde and Barut Lara Resort(expensive for what it is) and Club Sera(very nice but food not that good). This Xmas we are giving Sherwood Breezes a try.
