Have you seen.

Today at the market we were told of a tan colored, medium size dog that had been seen around the food area. She looks like a staff x.
We did find her and it was obvious that she had not long had puppies.
She was very thin and her teats where full of milk.
She had been feed some chicken, but i think she could have eaten for England, so i went to get her some liver but on my return she had gone.
Animal Aid would really like to know more about this dog, so we are asking anybody that might know of her to please let us know.
The chances are that she would have not have gone to far from her pups.
Please can you ask friends or anybody  you know that maybe lives around the Sunday market area to keep a look out for her.
Thank you.

I live just off the market place, I haven't seen her before but will keep an eye for her. If I see her I'll give you a ring.

This morning whilst walking back from Tugem Gida towards Yapi Market we came across this dog. She is a lovely natured dog and came bounding over to us with her tail wagging! She looked absolutely starving, so I put my scarf around her neck to keep her from wandering off, although she was quite happy to stay and have strokes. We rang Andy and he and Pauline met us at the vets opposite the Yapi. Kerim the vet couldn't have been kinder, he gave us a collar and lead for her and fed her 2 bowls of biscuits which she woofed down in no time. After a while she reluctantly wandered off with us following to see if we could find her puppies. I cannot say how shocked I was to find that she was owned by a Turkish person and that she had 8 puppies to feed. They were out on a balcony with no real shelter or comfort. :( Thankfully between Andy, Pauline and Kerim they explained to the owner that it was not acceptable to have her wandering the streets, and that her and her puppies needed more shelter and comfort plus more food! I know Animal Aid will now be monitoring her progress and helping the owners with some food for the poor mite. Thanks once again to Kerim for being so caring and obviously to Andy & Pauline who do a wonderful job with the Animal Aid.  :)

This poor dog is still about and still in a very poor condition. Pam and Jason and their customers are giving her what they can if she is seen around but I do think of the puppies and what they must be like now that they must be getting to the point of wanting more than mum's milk. I know that you all work very hard but is there anything you can do to get this beautiful dog away from it's present owner?

The puppies are doing fine and the owner is looking after them ok, with having nine puppies I think she is entitled to wander away for a few hours on her own, we saw and fed them yesterday so no problems there.

I can let you know where they all are if you want to visit or drop some food in.

Thanks for your concern

Thanks for the update. Glad they are doing ok. Daren't go and see them! I'll make do with seeing mum when she's on her travels.
