Nightmare trip to Brighton
« on: December 19, 2010, 19:44:59 PM »
I've just travelled from Cambridgeshire to Brighton to visit my daughter.  The journey, which should take around 3 hrs maximum took 5hrs 30 mins.  Reason?  Because junctions 5 to 6 on the M25 were closed.  As we drove through the diversion you could see the M25 and it was absolutely clear...no accident...no roadworks...nothing. so what was the point[:(!]  Nothing on the radio to warn you so ended up on various B roads.
Why does this country come to a complete standstill? Other countries seem to cope with this so why can't we[?]
Managed a cup of tea at my daughters before turning round and driving back[^].

a lorry carrying lpg jacknifed by Clacket Lane services so they had to clean up the fuel. It was on news telling people M25 was closed, but I guess thats no help if youre already in the area stuck in the traffic

We were in the car at 0800hrs, no time to watch the box before we left.  Thanks for that though, sort of glad there was a reason

A good reason to listen to the local radio stations.
