When being savagely put down still makes you smile
« on: February 17, 2011, 22:32:57 PM »
I was in Shetland over the last two days.

Under pain of death and despite the fact I was on business, the present Mrs H insisted that I bring home a bottle of Jago.

Fortunately, I found a bottle in the second shop I tried.

As always trying to be the smart "one", I said to the lady serving me, that having found the Jago, it would earn me many brownie points when a got it home.

Without hesitation she looked my straight eye and assured me "by the look of you, you will still be well in minus figures"

BRILLIANT:D

The wife was being verbally abused by an irate relative of a patient. My wife was called everything in the barn-yard bar the cow. When the relative had finished his tirade, my wife looked at him and said 'I've been called worse than that, by better than you'.A classic put down I think.
