Marmaris: Culture Shock
« on: May 01, 2011, 13:17:26 PM »
Hilary has joined me in the hospital room has put-me-up bed} for this weekend. Apparently the sea front is only 200 metres away so she decided to go down there to find something to eat. Now the place where we are staying is a Turkish resort (I guess 80%+ of the tourists/summer house people ore Turkish). So the menu in the restaurant was a bit different - not a Turkish dish is sight. But what shocked her was that she had to ask for bread! Being used to being presented with a mountain of the stuff as soon as you order a meal - possibly with a complimentary hot "puffy bread" as well -  she wondered whether she was still in Turkey.

Should the words Marmaris & culture be in the same sentence [?]
