Am I wrong?

After the killing of Osama Bin Laden, there has been an outcry from 'certain' muslim people. (I say 'certain' because the muslim religion is against killing.)
I read today there were huge protests in London, outside the American Embassy by radical muslims in support of Bin Laden. I was extremely shocked and horrified by this. In America this would be seen as a major threat on National security. Earlier in the week there was a comment from a known hate preacher, Anjem Choudary, after the killing of Bin Laden, spouting revenge etc.... he lives in the UK!!
I do not understand how people like this, who threaten Britain and It's population, can (or can be allowed to) continue to live in the UK, or even how demonstrations like todays go without the entirety being arrested, especially for a threat of terrorism, as this is what they state on their placards or the slogans that they shout.  Am I wrong?

And my Turk friends also cannot understand why Brits dont learn all our national anthem and fly the union flag either! When its explained it may offend other nationalities there, they ask why dont we just throw them out then if they dont want to live the Brit way of life

Agreed, I loved seeing the patriotism on National days, the Turkish flag everywhere and indeed general days you see more flags than you would in England on a normal day. Scotland is most definitely more patriotic than England and I do think in England we have been bullied into not showing our (enormous) national pride by people who think they know best.

To be honest I haven't heard anything about pro-Bin Laden protests in London so it may not be the case. In any case, those who openly support acts of terrorism should be removed from the country, and if that is not possible they should be removed from free society. If I stood outside Migros spouting anti-Ataturk views, it wouldn't be tolerated and rightly so. Not that I would of course. But I would be arrested if I wasn't torn apart first. That is the way I would prefer the UK to be - not a place where people are attacked physically for their views, but a place where people accept that we love our country and our heritage, and so much so that people realise that preaching hatred towards it really isn't a good idea.

I have always held the opinion,(may annoy some, but hey..), that if you live in a foreign country, then you should learn the history, language (and National anthem too).
I can remember when my son first started school,(they sing the National anthem every Friday at the end of the school day), his teacher came over to me in the playground after they had been excused... and congratulated me on knowing the Turkish National anthem. My reply was that I have lived here (at that time) for 10 years, have Turkish Nationality, and my son is half Turkish.. so I should know the National anthem!
I too love the way that the Turkish people are very proud of their nation, one thing that always gets me... the way that when they hear their National anthem playing, they stop, stand still and show their respect.

Absolutely you would be arrested. I agree completely, and think (personally) that things have gone a bit mad in the UK ie; not being able to fly the country's flag, religious holidays etc... madness

Was talking to my hubby last night about this and he said he voted BNP for the very first time on thursday for this very reason.Now it got very heated at this point but i respect his choice.Like it or not no other party has the balls to stand up and say what needs to be said and when they do they are treated as racists ( hubbys words not mine).

I love the way Turkish people show great pride for their country.
