Yet another new person Hello!
« on: February 23, 2005, 23:59:32 PM »
Hi Everyone
Lovely to find this amazing web site .. I was just really looking for properties.
So Hello to all out there!
I did try and tell you a little about myself earlier. Probably not in the correct format so thank you Linda for putting me right.
Hoping to buy in Turkey in prefernce to N. Cyprus which I already love!
The people and the place!
But on seeing the web sites re Turkey it has made me think again.
But of course I have one or two worries.
Like Is it a safe place to live on your own?
Any ideas where I should look for property as a retirement place to live. I like sea views and the countryside.
Obviously not too expensive as I have will be living on a limited budget.
Also I have two very precious dogs and if you can only bring one, then how do you make up your mind. Mine are like my family very well behaved and very sweet.
If my daughter came out with me could I we then bring two dogs. Or not as she would only be visiting.?

I do not speak Turkish either will that be a big problem?

You all seem to have embraced the idea of living in Turkey ....it sounds wonderfull.
Thanks hope to chat to some of you again,  Mary

Hi Mary
Welcome to the forum.
This site is a wealth of information and by using the search facility I'm sure you will find all the answers.  There are all sorts of people on here who have been there, done that so to speak.
Me, I only wish I could go to live full time in Turkey - you wouldn't see me for dust!
It's an amazing country and the people are so friendly, nothing is too much hassle for them.
Have you visited Turkey before?  Do you have an area in mind?

Good luck
Anne

Hi Mary
Welcome to the forum, as you will notice everyone has only good things to say about Turkey, we have also bought there and are hoping to go out for good next year.  I'm sure you'll find most of what you want to know on this site, I am still a novice as you will notice there are plenty of people who have already moved, personally I think it either feels right or doesn't and if it does then go for it. Good Luck
Tina

Hallo and a warm welcome.Once you have been I am sure you will not worry about feeling safe.
I do not feel safe late at night in my local town in North Devon..but in Fethiye my significant other says she does not worry at all and I agree with how she feels.
Make that first visit and you will know if it is right for YOU....then go with your heart. Good luck :)

Hello Cavalier and welcome. You will like it here and your dogs will love it.  If you have a look around on here I am sure you will find the info that says you can bring one dog each so hopefully this will mean you dont have a dilema of choosing.  Good luck and hope all goes well.

Hi Mary,
welcome, we also went to Northern Cyprus three years running but from a property owners point of view we much prefer the Turkish mainland - also not quite so far to travel !
